Smoked Paprika Cream Cheese Spread

Smoked paprika cream cheese spread.

Gobble, gobble.  It’s turkey day.

Wait.  What?

It’s not Thanksgiving!

Turkey Isn’t Just For Thanksgiving

Correct!  But any day could be a good day for turkey!

If you need to add variety into your meal rotation think turkey.

The United States is the largest producer of turkeys in the world producing as much as the rest of the world combined.  So there’s plenty of turkey to go around!

For those of you on a mission to eat healthier and cleaner, turkey is an excellent choice.  One skinless, cooked 3-ounce turkey breast contains no saturated fat and 26 grams of protein.  That’s 8 percent more protein than the same size chicken breast or top loin steak.  And it’s chock full of good vitamins and minerals.

As always, look for pasture-raised turkey which have had access to vegetation.  These birds will have more of the really good-for-you Omega-3s than factory-farmed turkeys.

There are lots of ways to prepare turkey besides the traditional Thanksgiving roast-a-bird-a-thon.

Try buying just the turkey breast and roasting it with a simple splash of olive oil and a dash of salt and pepper.

Once it’s roasted, slice it for the top of a salad, chop it and throw it in a pot of soup, or simply serve it with a side of fresh corn, sort of a slight nod to Thanksgiving.

Smoked Paprika Cream Cheese Spread For A Turkey Wrap

Or, here’s an idea.  Roll it in a sprouted grain tortilla that’s been slathered with a smoked paprika cream cheese mixture.  Top it with some greens, sliced red onion, black olives, and anything else you might find in the fridge that needs a friend.

Wow.

My mouth is watering.  I need to get into the kitchen and make myself one!
