All our chefs have received formal training and know their way around the kitchen. They can cook, teach, entertain, and answer all your burning cooking questions while they do it. The cherry on top is this: each of our chefs bring their own unique, fun, charming, and engaging personality to all Life At The Table cooking classes and events.

History

Chef Sandra Lewis

Founder and Owner

Chef Sandra Lewis is an entertaining and deliciously inspiring chef and speaker, classically-trained in French cuisine.

Prior to attending culinary school, Chef Sandra invested 20+ years in a corporate career.

Today she combines her culinary expertise with her background in human resources development and sales to create and deliver fun, imaginative, live virtual and in-person cooking classes and cooking experiences.

Chef Sandra, also a keynote speaker and podcast host, founded Life At The Table in 2007 to inspire, educate, and skill people to engage in the most important activity in life – creating community over a shared meal paired with great conversation. 

Her passion is teaching people to answer the most important question they ask every day, “What’s for dinner?”. She is also an Adjunct Culinary Instructor with The Art Institute of Dallas.

Chef Sandra earned her BS in Mass Communications, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Utah, and earned an AAS with Honors in Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu Dallas.

 

Life At The Table Chef Crystal

Chef Crystal Walls

Chef Crystal is a classically-trained chef with a deep love for family, friends, fresh foods and the farms from which they come.

In 2012 she graduated from culinary school with the motto, “What’s life without a little adventure?”.

Chef Crystal began her career more than 25 years ago as a catering manager at a private city clubs and large hotels in her hometown of Fort Worth, TX. Working with industry chefs, she honed her skills and gained experience working in professional kitchens.

As an instructor at a local cooking school, Chef Crystal realized her true passion was for teaching.

Chef Crystal volunteers at The Emeril Lasse Foundation’s Kitchen House in Orlando, FL, which teaches gardening, bee keeping, and cooking skills to middle-schoolers.

Chef Crystal believes that the true joy of cooking is in the time spent with friends and family, both in the kitchen and around the table. Chef Crystal is at Life At The Table where she can use her culinary expertise and her deep love of teaching to bring joy and community-building experience of cooking into homes around the world – including yours!

 

Chef Jeremy VanAntwerp

A native of New York state and currently residing in Buffalo, NY, Chef Jeremy VanAntwerp has been cooking in professional kitchens for more than 12 years.

His experience spans from fine dining to corporate production kitchens.

Chef Jeremy graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Hospitality Management and Restaurant Entrepreneurship from Niagara University.

His love for cooking began early in life as he always assisted with meal preparation for his very large family.

Chef Jeremy is creatively driven and loves to explore new flavors as well as perfect his cooking techniques. His favorite foods including cast iron corn bread, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and fresh fruit.

His most references cookbooks are Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” and Sean Brock’s “Heritage.” Both have a heavy emphasis on ingredient selection and proper technique.

History of Life At The Table

Chef Sandra Lewis established Life At The Table, Inc., in 2007 as a way to share her passion for cooking and more importantly, encourage others to create community and social connections by sharing a meal at the table.

For the first seven years, Chef Sandra worked the business mostly as a hobby. She has been employed by Life At The Table full-time since 2014 and since then, Chef Sandra has guided the organization’s unique offerings into the corporate health and well-being market.

Today, Life At The Table is a workforce and community development organization whose mission is to transform the lives of individuals and organizations by teaching people to answer the most important question they face every day that has a profound impact on every are of life, health, and well-being, at home and at work, “What’s for dinner?”.

Under Chef Sandra’s leadership, Life At The Table has developed a menu of services to train individuals and workforces to experience true satisfaction in life and at work through two important exercises:  Cooking, and creating community at home and at work.

Life At The Table delivers cooking skills training in a hands-on, lunch and learn, and demo format.  Culinary team building, employee engagement, and culture-making workshops round out the organization’s offerings.
