This sauce is similar to spaghetti sauce, but thicker, and infinitely more fun!

Ingredients
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 8-oz package sliced mushrooms
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
- Hot cooked pasta
- Shredded mozzarella
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once the skillet is heated, add the sausage; sauté.
- Add the cooked sausage to the crockpot along with the onion, bell pepper, garlic, Italian seasoning, bay leaf, salt, and crushed tomatoes.
- Stir to combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
- Remove the bay leaf and stir in the Parmesan cheese.
- Serve over pasta.
- Garnish with the shredded mozzarella.
