Nothing could be more simple and packed with more flavor than basil pesto. This recipe is super simple. It’s flavor will make your tastebuds leap for joy. Serve it with toasted bread, or as a sauce for pasta, roasted vegetables, or roasted meats.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups firmly packed basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 cloves garlic, smashed
  • fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor or blender.
  2. Process until smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  4. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to brighten the taste, if needed.
